The Assomac Group was founded by Late Shri Raj Kumar Tyagi, a visionary engineering professional whose technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to innovation laid a strong foundation for the organization. Early in his career, he demonstrated exceptional engineering capability and a deep understanding of wire machinery technology. One of his most notable achievements was the design and manufacture of the country’s first OTO-type continuous wire drawing machine in 1968 at a rolling mill in Ghaziabad, marking an important milestone in India’s wire machinery manufacturing sector.
Over his distinguished career, Late Shri Raj Kumar Tyagi earned recognition as an accomplished engineer and respected contributor to the global wire industry. Associated with the Wire Association International since 1992, he also had the privilege of serving as a director on the board of WAI, USA. He actively contributed as a panel member and technical advisor to several wire manufacturing units, supporting projects from planning to execution. During his tenure, he helped establish and organize more than 500 wire units from the ground up, reflecting his remarkable contribution to industrial development.
His pioneering work led to the development of advanced machines that continue to serve efficiently in various defense establishments under the Government of India. He made significant contributions to machinery for drawing both ferrous and non-ferrous wires and developed India’s first indigenous CO2 wire drawing plant. He is also credited with advancing specialized machinery for PC wires, CO2 wires, resistance wires, stainless steel wires, high-carbon wires, and other non-ferrous wire categories, including machines capable of handling both thick diameters and fine gauges with precision and efficiency.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was deeply inclined toward yoga, naturopathy, spirituality, and Vastu, which reflected his balanced approach to work, well-being, and inner discipline. His life and work continue to inspire the Assomac Group’s values of innovation, dedication, integrity, and excellence.
